The Crop Consultant Program is a service offered by the Ottauquechee Natural Resources Conservation District. The focus of the program is Nutrient Management. The use of soil, manure, pre-sidedress nitrogen tests and crop records can help farms apply the correct amount of nutrients which helps keep water clean and can save money.
Chuck Armstrong, our Crop Consultant, has a degree in agriculture from the University of Vermont and recently became a Certified Crop Advisor. Chuck has been farming for over 10 years and operated his own vegetable farm in Brownsville, Vermont.
The Crop Consultant services are being provided with assistance from USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS), and University of Vermont Extension.
The Crop Consultant Program is being partially funded by an EPA 319 grant through the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation.
